Runner up Sam Hain Costumes!

 

Here's a follow up to last week's Belated Sam Hain post to keep the spooky fun going for just a little longer. I thought up some good costume/character combos to take a stab at and show off for you guys...naturally I picked a sort of random scattershot of characters based on those ideas because...well if I wanted to dress up the entire cast this would take till the new year.

So I picked my favorite ideas, and put the pen to the tablet to show them off to you.

First we have Giselle, who I was torn on. The first and obvious idea was Farigiraf, the new pokemon evo for Girafarig. But literally, everybody is doing that to their giraffe characters, so I decided to save that for next year. I have to credit Elite Shade for the 'Siren Head' idea, as they featured that as Giselle's costume in the "Found Sam Hain Special" which you can read at the link below.

I also had the idea for a Mommy Long Legs Costume from Poppy's Playtime as a good pairing for the spindly and long Giselle, though I'm not condoning the game maker's practices. I just like Mommy Long Leg's design and thought it was fitting. So I decided to show off both ideas.

Next, and this one has been a long time coming, it's Ulric as Dale Gribble from King of the Hill! I must say, I do take some elements of Ulric's base character from Dale...usually more of Ully's extreme behaviors, so it was natural I'd want to revisit that connection in a Sam Hain costume. I imagine Ully feels Dale Growlbble is probably the smartest character on that show, and misses the comedy of it.

For this next costume idea, I had the thought of using a costume before I had a character for it. When I considered Lady Demtrescue from Resident Evil 8, it was between Ada and Vanna as they were both big gals. However, when it came down to personality, I imagine Ada could better pull it off, and so the choice was made.

Last we got Gus and Melly rocking Geralt and Yennifer from the Witcher series, which...I mean I feel it just perfectly suits the pair in terms of interests, I think this is actually my favorite of the costume sets, which is funny because it was a last minute add. Still, Gus and Melly being a happy dorky couple is adorable.

The Lost October (Novemberween)

Thanks to those of you who are continuing to support me, especially considering how much of a letdown spook month turned out to be. For most of October I was extra exhausted, and could barely get most of the work I had planned done. This is because, as it turns out, I had a sinus infection that refused to be ousted. Of course, it took me until some of the backers in the discord chat reminded me that I get them semi-annually actually to go in and get checked out for it and then an additional doctor visit to confirm I had it, as it wasn't progressed enough to show up to the doc the first time around as is often the case. I am currently in the process of finishing a round of strong antibiotics and taking Mucinex on top of that to try and blast it with both barrels. And while I've noticed an improvement, it's clear it's not fully shaken off.

So what to do about Spook month? It's over and I missed the deadline I suppose...Well, the simple answer is to simply make it up. And why not? I've got about a three...well at this point two week make-up period before we find ourselves staring down the barrel of Yule festivities. So I've decided to call my self-imposed grace period "Novemberween", which I'm sure has been used before. Now I've already started the AsktheBellHunters blog festivites with the whole "Sam Hain' pic" With a few costume reveals planned for later this week. I'm also in the midst of drawing that promised "Dierdre Black" (Loch Ness Monster OC) pin-up, which you can see the WIP of on the Patreon. My plans thus forth are to basically wrap those and move on to the initial goals I had for October before I got sick. Though I'm not going to shoot myself in the foot by giving more estimates. It simply isn't worth the headache. I'll just tell you that everything is on its way, and will arrive sooner or later.

I've got a lot of irons in the fire, and not enough hands, so I'm doing my best to juggle things around while trying to get better. I'm sorry it has to be this way...I really am...and I hate myself for it...but I'm still trying to get a grip on my health and balancing work around it. I guess I always am...but I'm hoping I won't always be doing it. As for progress on that front, I can't say either way right now...I've got appointments to stuff that may lead to something, but I'm not getting ahead of myself...I have to work within the window of how things are currently, not how I hope things might be.

Anyway, short update...shorter than usual, but I suppose that's how it is sometimes. I want to thank everyone again for their continued interest and support, especially the backers. It means the world to me...even though I fight you all so much in terms of being so generous. Thank you so much...
